WHAT IS BODY CONTROL PILATES?

The exercises are beginner-friendly and classes may include both mat-based exercises and the use of Pilates equipment. HOW CAN I GET STARTED WITH PILATES SESSIONS SAFELY?
CAN I DO PILATES IF I HAVE A HEALTH ISSUE?
Pilates can often be a safe and beneficial exercise option for people with various health issues, but it depends on the nature and severity of the condition. Always consult your doctor before starting Pilates, especially if you have a health condition. They can offer guidance on safe movement types, intensity levels, and exercises to avoid.
WILL I NEED TO STAND DURING THE CLASS?
Each class is tailored to the needs of the individual member so if standing is not feasible Anna will be able to adapt the exercises accordingly to suit your needs.
ARE YOUR CLASSES SUITABLE FOR PREGNANCY?
Anna’s sessions are not suitable for pre and post-natal pregnancy Pilates but if you contact her she can signpost you to where you can find suitable classes in the local area.
HOW DO I KNOW IF IT’S FOR ME?
It’s really important to Anna that you enjoy the sessions and that they work for you. All new clients have the opportunity to book a free 30 minute trial at the studio or via Zoom to ensure they are comfortable in the studio and like Anna’s teaching style.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
All equipment is provided including mats. Equipment is sanitised between each session. If you prefer to bring your own mat that’s fine.
DO I NEED TO BRING WATER?
Yes. Please bring your own bottle of water but don’t worry if you forget as there is a water machine available.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED THE BATHROOM DURING THE SESSION?
There is a dedicated toilet for clients next to the studio. You are able to take a break at any time during the session to use the facilities.
ARE THERE CHANGING FACILITIES?
There is a toilet with a small area to change. Please note there are no showers available.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Nothing fancy! Wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in. Please make sure you are wearing socks, preferably ones with grips on the bottom. If you don’t have these, they are available to purchase from the studio for £5 per pair. No outdoor shoes to be worn in the studio. There is a small area to remove shoes before entering the studio.
CAN I CANCEL MY CLASS?
A 24-hour cancellation policy is operated on all bookings. If you cancel 24 hours before the class, you will not be charged. If you cancel within the 24 hours you will lose the class fee. A no refund policy is in place.
